The application of anti-glare (AG) treatment on the cover glass of a display offers numerous benefits, including improved visual appearance, a smoother surface texture, and enhanced resistance to fingerprints. However, a notable drawback is that when applied to high-resolution LCD displays, AG treatment may induce the "sparkling" phenomenon, which can negatively affect visual performance.

The principle of Anti-Glare
Anti‐glare glass is a kind of glass with special processing on the glass surface.
- Features:By chemical etching or spraying process, the reflective surface is the original glass is changed to a diffused surface, which changes the roughness of the surface of the glass, thereby producing a matte effect on the surface.
- Principle : When the outside light is reflected , it will form a diffuse reflection, which will reduce the reflection of light, and achieve the purpose of not glare, so that the viewer can experience better sensory vision.

What Causes SPARKLING?
The reason of SPARKLING is when the LCD light through AG surface , if the AG treatment is Inhomogeneous(Fig3) , the light of R / G/ B from LCD Pixel will be interference each other and cause SPARKLING . We can control the particle or caves of surface to ensure homogeneously surface to reduce SPAKLING effect .

And for the process control , we need to collect the CTQ ( Critical to Quality ) data like Gloss and Haze and Roughness and DOI to ensure the surface of AG glass are homogeneously .

How to measure the SPARKLING value ?
We can through the SPARKLING tester to collect the data combined with LCD display.

What Majority value related SPARKLING ?
As TES study base on statistic correlation data , we can through to control the GLOSS / DOI of process to ensure a better and stable performance of Anti-Glare .
